On supporters and MCfans

Its that old thing that your club chooses you.

Supporters get behind the team and do their best to cheer them on to victory, however s**t they are. For 90 minutes. Football 'consumers' bleat about the 'product', about 'entertainment' or 'value for money' like so many of the shrill postings on this site. If you want value for money and entertainment f*ck of up the hill to the VUE.

The atmosphere at CR has been s**t for ages now. OK so has the football but the supporters can play a role in breaking what has become a vicious cycle. Don't underestimate the roll that good support plays in helping teams win games. There are too many MCfans these day who just treat football as if it is just another form of enertainment or lifestyle choice. Its not.

McFans also have completely unrealistic expectations and no understanding of what football is really about.

Football is ALWAYS about failure and long periods of mediocrity interspersed with occasional success. The raised expectations that come with success inevitably sow the seeds for future disappoinment at every level of the game. And so it goes on.

Face it, football is suffering. But it is like a drug and we keep coming back each season for more because we are hooked to the hope that it might be different this time.

Sorry, really needed to get that off my chest.
