Couldn't comment on Lol Morgan's side - but reading the book 'Passing Seasons' (by the EDP's chief writer of the time: can't remember his name off hand), it comes across like depressing mediocrity, much like we witnessed in the later 90s. What I would also say is since I started following the club (in the late '80s), only under Hamilton was I this worried about our chances of staying up - and even then, I basically figured we'd move away from trouble under someone who knew his arse from his elbow.

Now, even a change of manager wouldn't make me feel much more confident - because it seems to me the on and off-field problems are combining in a really serious way for the first time since 95/6 (when we'd already accrued enough points under O'Neill to just about keep our heads above water). Where are the wins, goals and points going to come from? And how are we going to progress when so much money goes to interest on our debts, the debts themselves and various other non-footballing factors?
