it is the board's fault. They watched everything go tits up from the moment we won promotion, they couldn't be bothered to challenge what Worthington was doing, they didn't help him manage his budget, they didn't bring in anyone to help, and they waited far too long to get rid. With the result that Grant inherited a team full of w**kers and very little money to sort it out. Turning that situation into one where we were challenging for promotion was always going to be hugely difficult - it doesn't look like he is going to pull it off, but I don't think anyone else would have done either. And he wasn't helped by two players leaving for below their replacement value - deals struck by a member of the board.
I bang on and on about Doncaster but someone should take a look at the way the finances are managed because we really should not be in this mess.
