Everyone we spoke to...
including Hughes, Eurowhotis and Comet said don't buy a combined one. The dryer bit of the combination will not hold as much as the washer so after the wash cycle you have to take some of the clothes out to use the dryer. Washer dryers are apparantly also more likely to break down than a single washer/single dryer.
Get a good washer (bosch, siemens or miele) and forget the dryer, just use the clothes line and save some energy.
