your £3.5m includes your highly dubious £3m starting transfer budget.
Whatever Grant might have said there is no way we would have bid £2m for Sharp if we thought Earnie was staying because they are too similar. And since we had to borrow £2m from the Turners to avoid NEEDING to sell players it seems reasonable to assume we had no initial transfer budget surplus of £1m (as you have assumed).
So any money to be spent would be what we could raise from sales.
I'd be surprised if we had much more than £1m to spend on fees (given that purchases involve significant other costs like agents fees, signing on fees and wages)
