Do we have any money for transfers?
Some people doubt we have any money left for transfers and others think we do. I hve tried to make an analysis and have come up with the following:
Assumption: The club said we didn't need to sell players to raise cash and Grant has said the sales of earnie and etuhu were not planned. So the £2M bid for Sharp was transfer budget not requiring player sales to fund it. Also assumed we had some more money for other players so transfer budget taken to be £3M.
Transfer budget £3.00M
Fees In + £5.75M (Earnie £3.5, Etuhu £1.5, Safri £0.5, hughes £0.25M)
Fees out - £2.81M (Cureton £0.75, Dave £0.65, Marshall £1.0, Russell £0.41M)
Signing on fees -£1.60M (8 players @ £200K ea average, doesn't include Smith)
Agents fees -£0.45M (9 players @ £50K each)
Net + £3.89M
Wages saved £ 61K per week (Earnie £12, Etuhu £8, Safri £10, Hughes £8, Thorne £8, McVeigh £6, Henderson £4K)
Wgaes in £ 57K per week (Marshall £8, Cureton £8, Gilks £4, Otsemobor £6, Dave £6, Murray £6, Brellier £8, Smith £5)
So wages basically neutral.
Therefore this would suggest we have at least £3.5M to spend assuming the Board can be believed when they say all money in will be used for players.
