I think that is pretty wide of the mark

if he had snapped ligaments he would:

1) Been carried screaming from the pitch on a stretcher.

2) Be out of the game until sometime in 2008.

Wasn't he seen limping a bit in the car park after the game? If so he has at worst strained ligaments.

Depending upon how bad the strain is it could be anything from a week/10 days to a month.
