Well I was assuming you started with a horizontal cross

I guess that's not necessarily valid - but getting your feet crossed and the nail in down there while the cross is upright could be awkward.

Arguing against myself though I guess you could lie on your side, lifting both feet up a foot or so off the floor, and use the relative stability of your torso on the ground while putting that nail in. Then rotate yourself about said nail to get the first arm done (nail gun held with second arm).
