Doesn't help that we've got a bunch of 'yes' men (and women) in our board.

They were quite happy to back Worthington with his signings, fully aware that these players could be on their way if we don't get promoted.

I wonder if anyone actually steps back and thinks "But what if..." when we are negotiating with players and agents.

Admittedly we're looking at getting decent money for these players, but when we've got a threadbare squad as it is, why are we allowing stupid release clauses to further strip our squad?

The club are prudent enough financially to put division-related pay cuts into contracts, but not pragmatic enough to make sure that we actually have players to take home their salary!
