Well speaking as an outsider

it seems to me that if someone says they are Christian, and, in the example below, talks about "evil spirits" and attends a church which talks about "witchcraft" then that is faith.
What irritates me is the respect placed in "faith" - tax breaks for churches, faith schools etc.
The reason I always quote Christian examples is I have never heard of an example of, for example, Islamic sexula abuse (does it exist and is massively under-reported? Seems unlikely)
As for the churches finally tightening up on child protection - well yes. But I remember for instance that the Dunblane shooter (can't remember his name) was thrown out of scouting well before the CofE were still covering up that music teacher.
Personally I doubt that the bible advocates the physical and sexual abuse of children, but there seem to be plenty of people with "faith" who interpret it that way.
