Would rather be "heroic" losers than winners. Pearce's standing will now have gone up for losing and playing garbage. How often does an England team in any major tournament play as if they think they are the best and can win on merit? Almost never, they try not to lose. If holland had been 1-0 up at half time would they have sat on their 6yd line defending and hoofing? No we would have hardly been able to get a touch of the ball.

Sven turned out to be a disaster but I applaud the appointment because he had the potential to be a winner, unlike the born losers like Pearce and Mclaren.
