Worth a new contract ?

He symbolises our weakness - inconsistency. He lacks pace, is not a natural tackler- thus gives away far to many free kicks in dangerous positions and too prone to mistakes . He is not a leader. He is probably also one of the highest paid players. He has been our main centre back in the past two seasons and stats speak for themselves. Shackell also has his weaknesses but at leat he has some pace and with a better centre back eg Dublin ( yes Dublin aged 38 and a striker who can also play in defence is a better centre back than Docherty ) he looks much more solid.
We will get nowhere with players like Docherty in our squad. The past 3 seasons are testimony to that.
