some european football associations...
...seem much more set on cutting out diving than others (eg the fa). in italy last week adriano dived to win a penalty that not only won the match, but secured the italian title for inter. retrospectively the italian fa gave him a 2 match ban as well as a hefty fine. it seems to me that if this kind of enforcement was brought in here, and was imposed every time a player successfully dived to the detriment of the other team, then it would be gone within a season.
