Isn't It Known As "Zummerset"?
By that, I mean the accent that is used as "standard" whenever TV companies are trying to depict rural England and accents-wherever its based, the West Country; rural Kent ("Darling Buds Of May"); Yorkshire ("Heartbeat"); Sussex ("My Uncle Silas"); Norfolk etc?
I saw some of it last night-didn't really go for it, a bit slow, although Stephen Fry is a good actor, IMHO-and thought the accents were a bit on/off, I guess one thing difficult with the Norfolk accent is that it, and the dialect, changes, even depending on where you are in the county-my "manor" for example, Brancaster and the NW Norfolk coast is different to Norwich which is different to Thetford and around that way and different again to further along the coast.
I also thought the dyke jumping thing was more of a Cambridgeshire/Fens notion, but hey...
