try to get a few bargains and strengthen slowly.

Starting to think that I prefer the watford model now (spend f**k all, have a laugh and go down a lot stronger and richer than you were when you got promoted).

what's important is that when you go up, you have a year where you can't get relegated from the championship, so it's the one year where you can think 'long term' rather than just trying to win the next game.

we should have blooded a lot more of the academy players, (even if they were a bit s**t, jarvis and even hendo deserved more of a chance), and brought in young prospects who would be able to help us for more than a season rather than spending s**tloads on older players (especially big salaries like Jonson and Helveg).

It seems that grant is doing exactly this - getting rid of expensive, old and crap players, blooding the kids in matches that aren't so important and bringing in unknown talent like Lappin and Fozzie (although the jury's still out on the latter, i think).
