Help required with getting the chat room to work

I am using a new laptop and I cannot get the chatroom to load because I dont have some java / activeX element installed.

I try to install this thingy, and my OS (Vista) says that 'it cannot verfy the publisher' and thats that.

can anyone offer any assistance?
