I'm not a massive fan of Grant - jury's out for me - but this tit bears grudges, and he's got one against Grant for some reason, while he wants to kiss Nigel Worthington's love truncheon.

Hardly objective. Any youth player's meteoric rise is not planned. No good manager will aim to fast-track a youngster on purpose. It's always through necessity.

However, Grant did have the balls to give Martin the chance when he could have fallen back on Thorne up front on his own or with Hucks (or God forbid, Doherty), as Worthington would no doubt have done. Grant DID recognise Martin's contribution and, after a couple of appearances to check for consistency, now seems to have him as his top striker other than Earnie.

I will give Grant credit for rewarding him for performances.
