Cheers - I dont think it is the RAM installation itself..
as I did what you said and checked the sys info tab, and it seems to recognise everything.
It shut itself down on occasion before, and after cleaning dust out it worked a bit better, but i was wondering if the RAM was making it heat up more(?)
Hopefully its just the dust, but it has cut out every time ive tried to burn a DVD since i put the RAM in...
