The Earnie dilemma

It strikes me that, following on from what's been written just below, the fact we've started playing a lot better over recent games (from Wolves onwards, really) has a lot to do with Earnie being absent. He's a marvellous finisher - but doesn't exactly add much to overall team play. But of course, without him, we're a lot less likely to finish off our better attacking moves.

So, what to do? Treat him as indispensable? Or, for the benefit of the whole team, start building for a future without him?
