Tough, but a bit silly!

I can imagine he wanted to be with the lads and all but concussion is a scary thing! Did a two-day course specifically on head injuries for my coaching education, and even what seem to be minor concussions can be far worse, and it isn't easy to detect the damage (which is why they normally keep you in for observation and wake you up every x hours to check you haven't gone into a coma!)
