Thoughts on today
I think we gave a good account of ourselves and I don't think we deserved to be on the wrong end of a 4-0 defeat. We didn't play badly enough to lose by such a margin and in the same vein, Chelsea certainly didn't look like they were going to beat us by that many.
First-half we were excellent; we were resolute and determined not to surrender. The players' spirit and endeavour was first class. Had Worthington been managing that game, we'd have probably have been talking about a 6-0 defeat this evening. Grant appears to know how to organise a team and if he didn't players like Hughes, Etuhu and Doherty around, we'd probably look a lot stronger.
Not convinced with Hughes at right-back, although, in the first half he did quite a tidy job. Second half, he was out-classed, out-paced and proved why he'd be an alarming choice as an emergency full back at Premiership level.
Safri impressed today; he did a superb job at dealing with Lampard and was my MoTM.
