It would be if we were in the bottom 3 - or in the top 6, for that matter. But for heavens sake, if we can't give all we have in the Cup this season, we never will: far, far too many teams rest players because of trying to stay up in the Prem, or get into the top 6 in the Championship, or even trying to get a UEFA Cup spot (about which, incidentally, hang your head, Mr Coppell. This is the best side in your club's history, and you're resting players for the Man U game: for God's sake, man! Don't you even WANT to win something?).
But we don't have that excuse. There's at least six sides worse than us in the Championship, and if we're really going to have a mindset of it all being about reaching 50 points, we might as well never even enter the competition. Saturday isn't a run-of-the-mill league game: it's a chance of glory. Why are Hux and others even in the game if not to achieve it, and be remembered for generations to come?
