Pre 1992 was it 'really' better?
I see a few people mention below that the atmosphere was so much better before 92. I can't claim to be an expert having only started going to games in 1990, however as I recall around this time the singing was even more isolated than it was now. Even back then it was only one section of the Barclay singing (nearest the away fans), now however we regularly have singing in both the Barclay and Snakepit and when things are good, the upper Barclay, Jarrold and Community stand join in.
Was it REALLY that much better or are people just being nostalgic? I'd say present problems taken out of the equation, the atmosphere is no better or worse now than 1990. Maybe my ears are playing up in my old age!!! Also I wasn't at the game but a friend told me in the early 90's there was a sit down protest because the players were playing so badly, (rather than a Chase out protest) can anyone remember if this is true?
