Mike Newell vs. Women

I was thinking about this on my way into work this morning, Mike "Emmeline Pankhurst" Newell's suggestion that women shouldn't officiate pro footer games, because as they're women, they're obviously not up to the job.

I reckon it'd be interesting if *all* the officials were women. We've got this big hoohah at the moment about teams getting to the referee's face. Messers Terry and Rooney and all that. If it was Geraldine Poll, not Graham that was the Wanker in the Black, would Rooney and his chums be so aggressive in thier confrontations? Would they think again before getting in the ref's face?

Dunno. Perhaps rampant mysogyny would mean that it wouldn't be any different, but I reckon it's worth a go. Worth a giggle at least.

After all, if we're allowing them to help elect governments, football shouldn't be beyond them.
