watch out
be very careful what you do. A pop up telling you that windows has detected spyware is most probably a malicious advert for some s**te spyware remover.
download one of the free spyware removers (try adaware) and run it to check. Keep your virus database up to date and use a firewall then you will have no problems.
And no the spyware programs you will have on your computer probably haven't done it any harm but they may have been recording your key strokes, passwords or email address. This is how most people get so much spam.
