...as I wasn't on the panel, and I don't know who applied.

However I do know that my source at the club said that Stringer played a very important role in Grant getting the job.

My opinion is that of all the names stated, Peter Grant has achieved the most in British football - I think 3 or 4 promotions as a coach, and worked in the Premiership and most other divisions too.
