Not disappointed by Grant appointment but these are the reasons he got the job

1) He said he was happy to work with the current back room staff of Hunter, Livermore and Webb and most if not all of the other candidates wanted to bring in their own men which would have cost a lot of money in paying off Hunter, Doug and Webb.

2) I believe he is a catholic and so is Delia

3) He was a lot cheaper than Mark Bowen and is on less wages than Worthy was.

4) He agreed to work with the current squad as there is no money available to spend in Jan due to the large pay off the had to pay Worthy because he was not infact on a rolling contract as the board stated. The 2 million that was to be spent on Cottrill was used to pay worthy off.

5) He interviewed very well and was given a glowing reference by Craig Brown (a personal friend of Delia) and Malky.

6) Bowen decided to stay at Blackburn as he believes Sparky Hughes will get Man Utd job within 2 years and he will go with him as his number 2.

I really hope he will do a good job for us and hope we as fans give him the backing a new manager needs but I can't help but think the board have once again taken the cheap option and let personal friendships with Hunter. Livermore and Webb get in the way. These clowns should have been cleaned out and Granty should have been given a clean slate to work with. But hey you can't blame him for agreeing to work with them as it is a hell of a first job to manage a club like Norwich.

Come on Granty teacher our defenders how to defend please!
