This is where I'm doubtful

The long list of potential managers could be broadly split into three groups:
1. youngish managers from the lower leagues (eg. Penney, Tilson, etc)
2. older experienced managers currently out of work (eg. Curbishley, Megson, Robson, etc.)
3. Assitant managers & coaches at Prem clubs but unproven in management (eg. Bowen, Grant, etc.)

Personally, I wouldn't countenance any from group 2 except Curbs perhaps and prefer those in group 1 as they've proven themselves to an extent. Group 3 is hard to judge - no track record as managers and really it's unknown to anyone outside football whether they have management potential - some coaches just don't - the classic example being Peter Taylor - great assistant to Clough, but abysmal as a manager. A pretty brave choice by the board, but is it a wise one? Time will tell ...
