And your point too. If there's a choice between two equally viable candidates and one has connections, I'd take the one with connections, but the person has to be a viable candidate to start with.
Which is why, much as I think, for example, Iwan is a legend, he's not even on the radar. Bowen is at least the sort of candidate you might consider even if he didn't happen to have scored in Munich. Depends who he's up against, for me.
