Spam emails often contain great big chunks of text robbed from websites or novels (I keep getting bits of the Wizard of Oz), which I think is to try to beat the heuristic spam mail blockers.
Fuck knows why though. I read a book a while back where one of the plot elements was a massive global conspiracy that used spam email as a way of sending coded messages to sleeper cells - hiding the message in plain sight. Very good book - Michael Marshall Smith.
