Misplaced Optimism

Its understandable that now the fixtures have been published there is bound to be renewed optimism and appetite for the start of the new season.

However, you can't escape the fact that we have yet to sign anyone (Jarrett doesn't sign until 1 July). Yes, there is time yet but it is fast running out and Worthy seems to be doing his usual trick of sitting on his hands whilst other clubs (Ipswich/Parkin) come in and pinch our targets.

Ipswich may have been heamorraging players but at least BFJ got busy in the market as soon as he got given the money (2 signings in 2 days). The next 2 weeks will be crucial to our chances this season. The squad as it stands is not large enough, or has enough depth to mount a sustained challenge next season. We still need another 4/5 players.
