Good question

As soon as Southend made it 3-2 we did our normal let's sit back and defend (we can't).

It then became a case of knock long balls forward for the last 20 minutes in the hope that Earnie and McVeigh can create an opportunity. Why bring Hendo on (not his fault) and play him out of position (again). He is a forward not a right winger. If Croft had to be substituted, he could have brought Flem on for the experience and pushed Colin forward.

Our intentions were quite clear when towards the end of the game we won a free kick on the edge of the box but left both Doc and Shacks on the half-way line, played it short and lost possession. Why not bring one of them forward and cross the ball and try to make it 4-2?

We certainly should have won the game last night but once again the tactical inability with substitutions from our manager shone through!!!
