I think Worthington is a little harsh there actually

he has a very valid point but I think there were also other issues which took the result away from us. I think towards the end of the match we needed older, wiser heads, players with discipline and experience to come on and calm the game down. Unfortunatly due to lack of squad depth we could not do that (well ok we could have brought Flem on but Croft and McVeigh must have been shattered with all the running they did so they probably needed to be subbed). The game also turned on the miss from Earnshaw which I am reliably told should have resulted in a corner towards the end of the game. That corner might have led to a goal or at the very least would have used up some time and Southend would probably not have gone on to score, then everyone would be saying how fantastic everything was.
