I know that's not right really but it's pretty obvious that when a team like England or Italy or whoever don't qualify, the tournament doesn't feel right somehow

Can you imagine Italy's euro qualifying going to pot and them not making it to euro 2008. Will be a bit stupid not having the world champions at the event

I know that's ridiculous, but Liverpool didn't qualify for the champions league once and all the stops were made (mainly cos Uefa needed the tv money)
