could well be, though if we suffer any serious injuries to key players I presume we'd be looking at loan cover (which is pot luck, but could be argued to be a more effective use of resources than spending them on a full-rime backup who might never get used). If you are only paying for backups when you actually need them you can presumably spend more on them per week and get higher quality than otherwise (what standard of player is going to be happy to come here as a backup anyway?)
