...which is a pretty extreme step. Repercussions there will be. Has the telly coverage spotted anything going on?

Like you I've seen balls come apart quite easily, I've seen a couple of good hits scuff the side of a ball so much that anyone could make it go like a banana, and when the wickets are hard (e.g. in the recent hot spell) the balls come apart even faster than I do (I don't "do" hot...).
