Yes, one season, but given he scored

15 goals his first season there (Shearer scored 31), none in his second season, and 50 in total for Blackburn in 132 games (and getting relegated in the process), it shows how that one season was not the benchmark for his scoring record.

He's better in the Sheringham role now - certainly not as a primary goalscorer.
