Management style

So we have a striker - Matt Svensson - proven at this club, proven at Championship level - but we won't offer him a one-year extension. So he has no real option but to exercise his exit clause. But that's alright - we can just replace him with a player costing 7 or more times as much as we received for Matt - and who has the added bonus of being unproven at Championship level, and is an unknown quantity as far as playing here is concerned. Genius.
Then there's the right back position. We had a player - promoted in each of his last two Championship seasons - proven to play well for this club - but because he wouldn't sign a contract earlier in the season he's made an example of and booted out. Hurrah! Who is the example directed at? The young players? If they don't sign a contract it's the club that loses out. The older players? Who cares if Holt and Fleming sign another contract?
But it's alright, because we still have one right back on the books. Mr Helveg - and he's sooooooooooo committed to us isn't he? And even if he does stay - what are the chances of him staying fit for what might be 49 league games. Or not getting a suspension?
And then there's right midfield. We have only one player on the books who can play there. Mr Helveg again. Brilliant isn't it? Let's hope Parkin does go to the scum so we can spend that money more sensibly.
But, still, we're bound to go up because the manager is a tactical genius. Our season turned on the manure game when Helveg and particularly Safri came back. And why was that done? "I don't want anybody to be able to say that they haven't been given their chance at the end of the season." Not because they deserved to come in - but to stop them moaning apparently. But the manager was quick to take credit of course. WELL WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE NIGE - IF YOU'D BROUGHT SAFRI BACK A MONTH EARLIER WE'D STILL BE A PREMIERSHIP TEAM TODAY.
There will be a new Norwich City manager by Christmas - why not get him in now while there's still money to spend, still time to mould a new team. Because if not, when we're 14th on New Year's Day what chance will there be of the likes of Ashton staying?
