Breakdown from listening to radio leeds
Is that after a fairly normal bright start from the home team, Norwich settled into the half and played very well, creating a lot of chances and passing the ball well
I was actually surprised to hear "robinson, to etuhu, to safri, norwich working it up field with some passing triangles"
One stand out thing from Eddie Gray was, he mentioned on no more than 5 occasions in the first half that our defence was shaky when pressured. This led to a second half conclusion that he thought Norwich had played very well today, and that looking over our commentators (must have been goreham and adams) that they looked like they couldn't believe that Norwich weren't 3-1 or 4-1 up by that point
He then said at the end of his summary that, if we are going to play with the current defence, he doesn't think we could get the automatic place, but we may have a chance of finishing 6th, mainly because he thought we'd have to score an awful lot of goals to succeed cos we will concede a lot too
We sounded like we had a lot of ball up to about the 70th minute mark, and then I think because we hadn't got anything out of the game heads dropped a bit. From 10 minutes till the end, all I heard was leeds players names been said, corners and freekicks to leeds (I think mainly due to us taking Colin off to bring a forward on). Even in the 3rd minute of injury time I think leeds had a corner and I realised we weren't pressing them, although we did have a flash point chance at the end
The impression was encouraging, good passing play, with a few questions marks about the defence
Depending on whether your glass is half full or empty, you can draw your conclusion from above as positive (of which the local media will do straight away)
An alternative view would be to say that Norwich just lost to a side that had 3 debutants in the side, 2 players that don't normally play (bakke and stone) and could have been disjointed by the fact they haven't gelled properly (and they've had a s**t pre season), whilst the Norwich team that has played together all the time apart from croft, didn't capitalise on the chances presented to them and went home with nothing
