At what point will the NCFC youth academy start to pay for itself?

Surely the whole mantra was, when it was set up that we would produce a steady stream of exciting young players, who would come through and display their raw talen at the club who gave them their first shot at the big time, before at some stage being sold on to develop their blossoming careers elsewhere.

The pathetic sit-you-a-shun keeps drawing me back to the Middlesbrough example. Downing, Parnaby, Davies, Morrison, Bates, McMahon, Cattermole, Taylor, Johnson and Graham all who've come up through their youth system, and already have UEFA Cup experience under their belts.

How come our half a handful (it's hardly a production line is it?) aren't ready for a scrap in the Championship? Someone really needs to pluck his head from his own arse for once.
