yes they are

get minimum 8x speed. but there is a noticable difference even with those and 16x speed, especially when playing on standalone dvd players.

and never burn dvdrs at the speed they say the maximum is, do it the next notch down.

i recommend datawrite/datasafe, they do a huge range of different types.
