the main difference i am hoping for is that

in the past few tours to england: mcgrath has known he'll get atherton out for a low score every time, warne has known he'll pick up 4/5 cheap wickets every match and australia have known englands middle order would crumble. This time, they might have figured trescothick out, but the other england players are largely unknown quantities and full of confidence. Also, like you said, the aussies are getting on and don't have the same unbeatable confidence and momentum of previous tours. Unfortunately, a lot of that can turn around very quickly so its vital england maintain the initiative.
