to a sell-on clause that specifically excluded player swaps as part payment then we are f***ing stupid. Oh....

I'm still not convinced. Some value would have to be attributed to the player concerned (for disclosure in teh club's accounts for instance and for the tax man). Can't believe a sell-on clause would allow such an easy get-out as to ignore such players in calculating profit.
