Time for a change of policy?
"Exactly how much is in the City transfer kitty has not been disclosed but Doncaster said last week that ?making any money available out of our cash flow for players is difficult.?"
And the reason for that, as "Neil Doncaster" explained is ?We allocate the amount to be spent by the manager as he sees fit. Whether he chooses to spend it on one or six players, on free transfers or wages or loans is really down to his judgment. It is not the board's place to tell the manager who to buy and we would never dream of doing that."
The inevitable consequence of the board's policy of not challenging the manager's judgement is that he has been allowed to piss a fortune away on w**kers, loan signings and agent's fees.
Drinks all round! (But only if an agent is paying, presumably).
