wait, they are there for "conservation"? ah ok. i don't buy into that tosh. it's not to breed another captive wild animal for conservation at all. they are breeding them to keep the production line of dangerous animals that are incapable of surviving in the wild so will be kept in capivity all of it's life purely as a cash cow.
name one conventional zoo that genuinely exists primarily for conservation and accepts gradual transition towards non-exhibiting breeding and rehabilitation facilities.
a handful of true wild animal conservation projects exist around the world that are dedicated to provide lifelong care for animals that cannot cope themselves in the wild but they don't accept paying voyeurs for profit.
call me soppy but i also struggle a bit with the whole throwing three year olds into crocodile enclosures malarkey.
