sod the food truck idea... flogging a dead horse is where it's at baby
it's broadly illegal to bury a dead horse in the uk, you can do it under severe constrants but it's a right old pita.
let's face it if you've got a dead horse then you have got a problem and south norfolk is awash with horses so there your revenue stream right there on my doorstep.
the best way to dispose of a dead horse is to cremate it in a f**k off bespoke horse furnace. a decent horse cremation business costs around £250k-300k all-in; this includes the cost of the furnace, rent of premises, running costs, employing one x member of staff, a collection van, a horse hoist & handling equipment, memorial items (urns/caskets/jewellery/hoof prints etc), environmental compliances et al.
once established, the target operation would handle approximately 20 pet cremations and one horse cremation each week. the certainty of death assures an endless conveyor belt of business. my plan is to offer the service to vets so that they can direct bereaved pet and horse owners to the one stop shop for all their dead pet/equine needs.
at that level, together with collection fees and memorial products, i believe the business could generate approximately £250,000 to £300,000 in annual revenue, with the potential for £70,000 to £110,000 operating profit once established.
obviously firing up a horse furnace to incinerate one cat isn't exactly cost effective so i could offer a cut price multi small animal creation service and dispatch about fifty in one go. once the business has grown sufficiently i could then buy a small pet incinerator and do individual pets more economically. as a rule of thumb it takes about 4 to 8 hours to incinerate a horse depending on it's size (shetland to carthorse) in case you were wondering.
anyone care to punt in £150k with me for a 20% slice of quiet meadow animal aftercare ltd?
"dignity at the end of every journey".
also, we could tap into the donkey and alpaca slash llama market as well.
