That's AI, which raises the deeper question of why someone took the trouble to make it
which in turn hints at how central anti-cycling has become to our social media-infected culture wars.
That said, there is a problem of cyclists ignoring road rules. Irritates me a lot, virtually every day. At least in London, has got a lot worse as the number of cyclists has increased so much - seems to be some kind of herd or learnt behaviour.
And *that* said, there's the deeper question of our sense of proportion here.
According to HMG, between 2020 and 2024, 1,906 pedestrians were killed in road collisions.
Of those 1,906 deaths, 1,897 involved motor vehicles. 9 involved cycles.
That's, on average, someone dying every single day from being hit by a motor vehicle. With around 15 people every single day being seriously injured.
Vs fewer than one person dying every six months from a collision involving a bike.
And yet people get so much more exercised about the latter, and just seem to take the former pretty much for granted, without really thinking much about it.
I believe the word is motornormativity.
