There are all kind of things that are not widely-known

The GPS Vests, for instance, have been allowed in competitive matches for over a decade now. They track work-rate, movement etc etc
And there are devices that slip over the boot that track force and frequency of foot/leg movement. I don't think these can be worn in senior matches but the Academy appear to.

The massive amount of data 'knowns' may be a contributory factor in injury frequency. If a player knows that his effort levels are constantly being tracked by his employer then he is more likely to push and try to reach Maximum more regularly.
