as I explained, you can leave the £200 you invest in cash if you want to, so that will 100% stay the same.

The £100 in shares could be worth £80 or £120. Given the options to invest it in are big US tech companies, you'd be incredibly unlucky if it reduced by much - unless you think Google, Amazon, Nvidia, Apple etc are going to collapse.
