Agreed. But also...

Let's not forget how far Southampton got in the FA Cup. Does anyone still believe that the only clubs they spied on were Oxford, Ipswich and Boro? In addition to handing out bans to individuals, I wouildnt be at all surprised if the FA were gathering evidence on whether they also spied on FA Cup opponents, and whether there will some action taken in that regard.

Personally, I think there is a pretty high probability they have spied on every opponent since November and that their representation at the tribunal, appeal and statements released in public are at best disingenuous and at worst naked lies. If there is evidence to support that, surely further sanctions follow?

While I'm at it, I can scarcely believe the statements the CEO has released over the last few days, and the lines they are trying to run as a club. It smells to me that the most senior people at the club still dont get what they have done - openly planned, systematic premeditated and prolonged cheating - and how it is viewed. When you've been busted sitting next to a big pile of s**t that you just shat on the rug...just shut the f**k up. Stop whining, stop saying "what about Leeds, what about Chelsea, what about Luton....". Just shup up, you massive cheat, nobody has sympathy with you.

Personally, I think formal proceedings about this matter are far from over, and more processes will run over the summer, and more will come out. How many of the staff knew? Just the manager and the "intern"? Fuck off, no way. Did the playing staff know? Players are often not the sharpest tools in the shed, but surely there would have been some serious clues in the pre-match training/briefing? Were the "methods" of the coaching team understood by club seniors, and condoned? How has the CEO allowed a culture to develop that allowed entrenched cheating? I think yesterday is just the beginning, necessarily done in a hurry, with a lot more to follow.
